FAQ for Spring Football

Will I have to fundraise during the Spring Season?
No fundraising will be done during the Spring Season. The league will provide Flag Jerseys to all flag players and for Tackle players they will be provided a colored mesh jersey to use during games.

How many games are there and how are they organized?
Players are divided into equal size squads where the coaches will focus on creating squads that are evenly matched. These squads play against each other in a regular game with officials and timing. The squads may change week to week to keep a balance and meet the objectives of giving all players opportunity and experience. All of our games are at the Queen Creek Middle School.

I heard that your Spring Season is instructional. What does this mean?
The spring season is open to all players and is focused on helping players develop the proper football skills in both tackle and flag. Rosters are split up to ensure both teams are evenly matched with small roster sizes. We keep roster sizes very small so players spend the majority of each game on the field.

Do you keep score, and will there be playoffs?
No scores are kept and there will be no playoffs. Again we stress that this is a developmental season focusing on teaching rather than wins or losses.

How many games during the season?
There will be 8 games during the season with 2 weeks off  during Spring Break.

Do you have referees for the games?
Yes, we have referees for every game both in flag and tackle. The primary focus is safety, but they will also help in teaching the players during the game on how to make corrections and answer questions that coaches may have.

When and where are practices and games held?
Practices will be twice a week on Tues and Thurs from 6pm-8pm for tackle and 6pm-7pm for flag. Games are on Saturdays. All practices and games are at Queen Creek Middle School.

What equipment do I need and can I rent it from the league?
For tackle football, you can rent a helmet and shoulder pads from the league registration site for $40. Additional equipment you will need:
Cleats
Shorts (Flag only)
Football pants (Tackle only)
Standard 7-piece pad set (Tackle only; can be integrated into pants)
Mouthpiece (Tackle-mandatory; Flag-optional)

Do players need to have a physical before participating?
No, but you should read the league waiver and understand that you are responsible to ensure your child is physically fit and able to participate in organized sports.

If my child is younger than 6, can he/she still play in your league?
Yes, your child is more than welcome to play. .
